Gmundner Lodge is founded on a legacy that stretches back to 1492. Founded in Austria, Gmundner Keramik is the oldest ceramic company in Europe and remains a family business that is synonymous with the finest quality Austrian tableware. Working with indigenous groups in the field of arts and crafts, they provide a livelihood for these groups while developing the art of ceramics through their community-based Art & Aid Project.

“As most people know, Naturally Namibia is a partnership of independent yet like-minded Namibian tourism companies, each dedicated to delivering unique and authentic experiences while offering the highest level of service to our visiting guests. Our partners are deeply committed to protecting Namibia’s pristine wilderness and uplifting the communities around them, values that Gmundner truly lives and breathes. Their hospitality shines through in every detail: guides who speak with passion, a horse whisperer caring for the horses as if they were family, coffee you dream about long after leaving, breathtaking views, and genuine Namibian warmth at every turn. Their outreach to the San community in Donkerbos and Drimiopsis through the Art & Aid Project is truly inspiring and reflects exactly what Naturally Namibia stands for. Gmundner is a perfect fit for our family, and I look forward to working with Shanna and the entire Gmundner team,” says Miriam Schmidt on behalf of Naturally Namibia.

Gmundner’s range of activities will entertain even the most adventurous of travellers, and includes Kalahari drives, helicopter flights, ceramics painting, e-bike, horse riding, farm excursions, tennis and stargazing. There is also an on-site wellness centre with a gym, sauna and spa.
